House Wine Wednesdays: At The Stag

The Stag in Adelaide’s East End has been one of the staples of the area for as long as I can remember. Their reputation seems to fluctuate, but they bill themselves as a friendly bar for meat eaters. Their menu is called ‘Serious About Meat‘, so this is already somewhere to avoid for the vegetarians among us. However, it also has a bar, it’s in a great position on Rundle Street and they recently followed us on Twitter. Chuck in my own joy in receiving a substantial tip at work, and it was a recipe for House Wine Wednesday success! Off I popped to give them a try and see if the bar’s ‘Serious About Wine’ claims were true.

Barossa Valley Unofficial Wine Tour: Review

My family and I went up to the beautiful Barossa Valley for our traditional Easter camping weekend last week. We did all our traditional favourites: Big camp-style roast lunch, ate far too much cheese and chocolate, and of course, an impromptu wine tour. This region is widely considered one of the best for wine in Australia and I could happily spend an entire weekend traipsing around to the stunning wineries and trying everything I could get my hands on. We ended up trying four wineries and popping into Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop to top up our dwindling snack resources. This certainly won’t be the last time I write about the Barossa, but here are my increasingly tipsy thoughts on my most recent wine tour: (more…)
