Because the sweet smells of the street are irresistible to me, I’ve been back to Ebenezer Place already to get more tasty lunches up in my face. While all the little cafes look and smell amazing, there’s one place that I’ve been dying to try. There are always people filling up the benches with plates and plates of something a little different. And finally, it was my turn. At long last, I’ve visited Kutchi Deli Parwana, the new street food version of Henley Beach’s Afghan Kitchen, and it was everything I’d dreamed of and more.

Has anyone noticed how overwhelmingly packed with great places Ebenezer Place and its neighbour Vardon Avenue is these days? It’s now housing cute cafes, sexy wine bars, and little stores selling all sorts of stuff, as well as all your old favourites. Like the Peel Street Series we started many moons ago, the Ebenezer Place Series is basically going to be me going and exploring a couple of the stand-outs on both streets so that you can visit the area with an idea of what you’re in for. I just started working on Rundle Street (YAY) so you can expect this section to fill up a lot quicker than poor old Peel Street. I’ll return there soon. I promise.

Anyway, the first place I’ve stopped by on Ebenezer is Mothervine. Remember those sexy wine bars I mentioned? This is one of the sexiest. If you’re looking for somewhere to go for after-work drinks with someone you’ve got a bit of an eye for, this is the one for you. Even if you don’t have love on your mind, it works as a cool place to hang out with friends to gossip over all the stuff that you remember from high school, and omg, did you see Tony and Caroline got married?? This is why you should be checking it out:

House Wine Wednesdays: At The Stag

The Stag in Adelaide’s East End has been one of the staples of the area for as long as I can remember. Their reputation seems to fluctuate, but they bill themselves as a friendly bar for meat eaters. Their menu is called ‘Serious About Meat‘, so this is already somewhere to avoid for the vegetarians among us. However, it also has a bar, it’s in a great position on Rundle Street and they recently followed us on Twitter. Chuck in my own joy in receiving a substantial tip at work, and it was a recipe for House Wine Wednesday success! Off I popped to give them a try and see if the bar’s ‘Serious About Wine’ claims were true.
